This document was
written on Jan. 31, 2004, by George E. Markakis (Athens, Hellas) without prior
consultation with the other leaders of the first G.E.C. convention; it reflects
what some of us in Hellas (Greece) have been receiving from the Lord as action
steps following last November’s convention in Athens. Randal Weidenaar (Athens,
Hellas) has been the key voice through whom the Lord has given us detailed
action steps; I have the personal conviction that Randal is the Lord’s chosen
leader for the project of redemption of the Olympic Games.
This document
opens the ground for further input and feedback from other countries and
leaders. To note, so far there have not been any unsolicited contributions from
other former G.E.C. participants concerning the actions steps, which were to
come between December 2003 and August 2004 (we are talking about them further
on). However, email communications with Lee Ann Thompson seem to be confirming
that what we are on the right track so far.
Coming
out of the Gatekeepers of Europe Convention of November 2003 in Athens, I was
mainly left with the following key impressions:
10 strikes
for the redemption of the Olympic Games
To
break the 10 toes, 10 key strikes against the enemy would be required, one
strike per month. The convention in Athens (including a most important day-long
visit in ancient Corinth) was in itself the first of the 10 strikes. There were
10 months between the opening of the convention on November 2003, and August
2004, the month of the Olympic Games. The Lord did not give us at the time
specific instruction concerning the remaining 9 strikes, but a major strike was
already planned for December 20, 2003, which the Lord communicated through
Randal Weidenaar, who also led the event; that was the celebration of Hanukkah[ii] in
Athens, outside of the ancient marble stadium where the Olympic Games were
held, where they were revived in 1896, and where the Olympic flame is kept
burning on an altar for 5 months prior to the Games. This is an overview of
what we know so far:
1. Nov. 03 -Gatekeepers
Convention of Europe in Hellas for the Lord’s strategies to be released and
establish network
2. Dec. 03 -Hanukkah
celebration at the Olympic stadium in Athens (Prague also celebrated;
possibly other places too)
3. Jan. 04 -Visit
site of ritual to break the Olympia-Berlin covenant[iii]
which started the Olympic flame as global event
4. Feb. 04 -Visit
Berlin (Thursday Feb. 12[iv]) to
complete the uprooting of the spiritual power behind the Olympic flame
5. Mar. 04 -Day
of Fasting and Prayer across Europe to nullify the power of the rituals
igniting the Olympic flame
6. Apr. 04 -Yet
undefined action (possibly related to Passover[v] and
the power of the Blood of the Lamb of God)
7. May. 04 -Target
Europe convention in Strasbourg[vi],
seat of E.U. Government
8. Jun. 04 -Yet
undefined action (possibly related to the flame leaving Hellas to go around
the world)
9. Jul. 04 -Yet
undefined action
10. Aug. 04 -International
Praise and Worship event in Athens[vii]; all
the nations of the earth praising Jesus Christ
I do not know at this point if our Lord’s plans served through G.E.C. are to extend beyond the Olympic Games. However, He certainly seems to be using this vessel for the confrontation with the spirit of Zeus, to whom the Olympic Games were dedicated from the very beginning. That spirit is in my opinion the spiritual “world-ruler” that provides the spiritual environment for humanism and humanistic philosophy to grow. The direct worship Zeus is receiving through the rituals conducted as integral part of the Olympic Games, and the flame which burns to his honor and praise, gives him the legal authority to maintain his dominion over the western civilization.
On
the same week that G.E.C. was initiated, the Lord separately initiated a
70-week prayer for Europe, led by Target Europe (Roger Mitchell); the word was
initially given by Lee Ann Thompson if I have the correct info. We are
presently on the 14th week since its start, and I carry the burden
to intercede for Europe along with many others. The same people who initiated
Nightwatch were also key leaders of G.E.C. Is that a coincidence? No, I believe
G.E.C. and Nightwatch are God’s vessels working along side by side towards the
final goal, which is the revival of Europe. I propose we carefully examine in
which areas the two vessels run along independently, and in which areas they
are meant to join into a stronger force, targeting the same enemy strongholds.
To note, the 70 weeks will end some time in the spring of 2005. This timing reminds me of a prophecy of release of Hellas, discussed on the next paragraph:
On April 2000, prophetess Sharmaine Meek of Australia while ministering in Athens prophesied a 5-year plan of unlocking of the nation from the powers of darkness that keep it bound. She saw 5 doors shut, holding the nation in captivity; one door were to open up each year. Verily we have seen a gradual change of the spiritual environment of Hellas, as well as Europe which comes under the same spiritual powers, in the last 4 years. I believe that by the spring of 2005 we shall experience a major shift in the heavenlies!
That prophecy
was spoken at a conference held at the church of one of the Prayer Chain
Network leaders. P.C.N. in Hellas has strongly supported Sharmaine’s ministry
to our nation, which we have identified to be one of God’s vessels to
accomplish His purposes. P.C.N. grew in power and influence since 2000, and year-by-year
we became more united with and part of the European prayer movement, and more
specifically with Target Europe. P.C.N. further established the platform on
which G.E.C. was launched.

25, 2004 to be a Day of Fasting and Prayer across Europe.
Why is the ritual of
igniting the flame of the Olympic Games to be held 5 months prior to the Games?
The event of running the flame to all major capitals and all 5 continents of
the earth and all over Hellas, by 16,000 athletes carrying the torch will
commence in June; what is the value in keeping the flame on suspense for so
long?
The answer is to be found
in the spiritual significance of the date; it is the Independence Day for
Hellas, and the Feast of the Annunciation of Virgin Mary. The revolution
against the Turks which led to the independence started off under the blessings
of Virgin Mary; the covenant of the leaders and the official declaration of war
took place in the only town in Hellas which carries her name, in English
translated as “Mary with the Good Eyes”.
The Olympic flame will be
lit at an altar where in ancient times sacrifices were offered to Hera, wife of
Zeus. Hera was the ancient version of modern Virgin Mary, in the true spiritual
sense, both in effect being the local version of the Queen of Heaven; this name
is used in modern charismatic circles to identify the spiritual powers of
wickedness in the heavenlies that promote the direct worship of the occult,
spiritism, animism, Satanism, black witchcraft, voodoo, and demon worship.
Holding the ritual of the
Olympic flame on the day when the nation’s Government renews an annual covenant
with the Queen of Heaven releases the maximum occult power, upon which the
Olympic committee is clearly calling upon by choosing that date, which is
otherwise unrelated to the athletics of the Olympic Games.

Hanukkah.
It is the Feast of (re-) Dedication
of the temple of Solomon in Jerusalem; it is mentioned in John 10:22 when Jesus
visited the temple. It was instituted after the successful Maccabean revolt
against the occupying Greek army, which was under the command of Antiochus
Epiphanies.
The rededication of the
temple was needed because it had been desecrated by the Greeks sacrificing to
Zeus in God’s temple, pouring the blood of swine on the altar of Yahweh.
Celebrating this Jewish Feast right by the altar where Zeus receives worship
even today commemorates the first monumental victory of Yahweh over Zeus, and
sets the spiritual platform of power and authority in the spirit realm for the
people of God to walk in victory against the demonic dominion.

Following the supernatural
move of God, arrangements were made with a local prayer ministry in Berlin for
a day’s visit of a group of 5 from Hellas to repent on behalf of Hellas for
exporting the Olympic flame, and the resulting spiritual power of Zeus, to
Berlin. As this document is written further details are yet undefined –e.g.
location in Berlin- and under examination. More European leaders are welcome to
join us if they feel the leading of the Lord.
[v] Passover.
This year 2004 it seems that
the Jewish, Catholic and Orthodox Passovers coincide; is there any significance
attached to this rare phenomenon, through which the Lord is trying to
communicate something to us? E.g. something about the spiritual unity of the
people of God? Is this a call for actions promoting the unity within the camp
of God? To note, one of the key weapons of Zeus against the people of God is
the spirit of division and self-centered isolation and separatism.
Fragmentation and lack of cooperation serves more the plans of Zeus than the
Kingdom of God.

Worship event in Athens.
A prophecy, which has been
confirmed by the testimony of more than 2, has directed us to counter the
Olympic spirit by lifting up the Lord in Athens, through a voice of praise
raised up by all the nations of the earth. The Olympic Games commence on Friday
13 August, and by that time thousands of visitors from all over the world will
be in Athens. Many of them are people of God who are coming to serve the Lord
in whatever context is made available to them. It remains that the local people
organize a major celebration event to lift up the name of Jesus for many of
those foreign visitors to join the local folks in praising the One true King.
